About Fortune Lantern
Fortune Lantern is a free, English-language home for two of Korea's oldest and most enduring traditions: Saju (사주, Four Pillars astrology) and 해몽 (dream interpretation) — built for people outside Korea who've heard about these practices, maybe seen them mentioned in a K-drama or by a Korean friend, and wanted a place to actually try them without needing to read Korean or track down a practitioner.
What's here
A full Saju reading calculated from your exact birth date, time, and place; a compatibility (궁합) checker for comparing two charts; a wish-lantern ritual; a categorized Korean dream interpretation library covering nearly 80 symbols with real situational detail; and a set of plain-language articles explaining how the underlying system actually works.
Why it's free
Every reading, calculation, and article on this site is free to use, with no account or paywall. If something here genuinely resonates with you, an entirely voluntary "offering" (복채) — the traditional token payment given to a fortune teller — is available, but nothing on the site is gated behind it.
How we approach it
Saju and 해몽 are genuinely old, genuinely rich traditions — but this site doesn't present them as scientifically verified predictions of the future. Where a reading reflects real historical practice, we explain where it comes from; where a popular belief is closer to folklore or a commonly retold story than a proven fact, we say so directly. You can read more about that approach in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
Who's behind it
Fortune Lantern is an independent, small-scale project, built and maintained by a single person rather than a company. It isn't affiliated with any professional Saju or dream-interpretation practice, temple, or shaman.
